MIDNIGHT VIDEO.

Another cop/sex thriller movie from Adams, who seems very fond of them indeed. I have to admit to having a great fondness for his 1989 effort "Legal Tender" (VCA) and thinking that most of what he's done since then has been pretty poor or Grade "Z". However, this one on the other hand is a remarkable spring upwards for Buck, almost putting horrendous trash like "Babewatch" out of our memories forever. Brilliantly shot on film by Jack Remy, this adequately scripted, indifferently acted and often rather hot film has a lot going for it. It also would work as a couples' movie as far as I'm concerned. I'll explain more on that as I go along.

The film opens with shots of a big mansion in Beverly Hills or wherever, and we hear lots of gunfire from inside and see flashes of light appear from various windows. A few seconds later, Buck comes rushing out, jumps into his cadillac and speeds off into the night. Cut now to a naive young smalltown gal (unconvincing casting in the form of siliconized blonde fuckslut Rebecca Wild) standing on a lonesome desert road hitch-hiking her way into LA. She explains her story in voice-over that she is bored with smalltown life and wants to prove to her parents that she can survive okay in the big city. So, rucksack on back, she's left home and is now trying to make her way to the City of Angels. We know from this premise alone that something bad is *bound* to come along and, of course, it does... In the form of Bad Boy Bucky, who comes screeching along the highway in his cadillac and offers her a lift. I find this next bit a tad implausible considering Buck's physical appearance, but she claims to fall in love at first sight with him and tells the viewer (In voiceover) that the two of them hit it off great and can really relate to each other. Thus, they end up driving to a motel on the outskirts of L.A., renting out a room and fucking each other:

I have to admit I was ready to press the FF>> button before it even began. Having seen Rebecca in action before I had no desire to see her again. I must say that she sports one of the worst pairs of salad bowl chest extensions I've ever seen, but disregarding that I suppose the rest of her body is actually quite nice. Still, this scene has changed my mind completely about her ability to perform onscreen. Her and Buck go at it Hell for leather on the motel bed and both partners really seem into it. It begins with her giving Buck an okay BJ and him responding by grossly overacting (Shouting things like "Oh My GOOOOODDDD! This is the best BJ I've ever had!" and such crap). As it continues, the two of them sweat, bump, grind and scream their way through the whole gamut of positions (mish, doggie, cowgirl, even reverse cowgirl, and a couple of positions that probably don't even have names!) with much gusto. Being as they appear in a lot of scenes together in other films (none of which I've seen that compare to this one), I'm guessing that they may have some kind of offscreen relationship as well? If so, then it shows quite well during this scene where (for a change) both partners seemed to be having a Hell of lot of a fun. The scene climaxes with Buck popping his wad on her crotch. Both of them are bathed in sweat at the end of it and I can imagine the majority of male viewers being left in a similar state.

For reasons unexplained (an extra sex scene, I guess) Buck now has a flashback to the opening scene at the mansion. He stands sipping in a drink in the living room in front of Dyanna Lauren (looking very pretty as usual) and Brad Armstrong (looking like a sap, as usual). They are a couple who place a personal ad in the papers requesting someone to come over and watch them fuck. "Just watch, nothing more" instructs Brad firmly to Buck, who (as we see later) does not like being told what to do. After a corny and, to be frank, rather badly delivered exchange of dialogue (Did I mention that Buck was putting on a fake southern accent throughout this whole film?) Brad and Dyanna get down to the business on the couch. It's a *very* straightforward oral/oral/mish/doggie sort of screw which seems like a great comedown from the opening swive with Buck and Rebecca. Dyanna looks absolutely delicious of course (aside from her tits, but I've learned to ignore them) but she can't carry off such a lacklustre scene by good looks alone. She does talk dirty to Buck (eg The Camera) whilst fucking, which I suppose is a nice touch, but Brad looks uninterested and just looks like he's waiting for his paycheck. He cums weakly on her butt, from the doggie position, and Buck, still pissed off from being told what to do by him earlier on, decides to blow their brains out with his .38! It's all implied violence but there's a lot of screaming from Dyanna as the screen blacks out.

Cut to hard boiled cop, Tony Tedeschi, scoping out the mansion for clues as to whodunnit. Whilst he conducts his investigation he is rudely interrupted by Jonathan Morgan and Steve St Croix (my personal favorite porno double-act. See Enright's "..Nights" series for the reasons why) playing FBI men. He's curious as to why the FBI are trying to muscle in on a simple homicide case and gives them some tough-talking interrogation, during which it's revealed that the potential suspect is, in fact, a federal prisoner who escaped from a Mexican prison a couple of days ago and is currently suspected to be at large in the Los Angeles area (Could this be Buck?? Never!!!). Tony tells them to leave him to his own investigation and then goes home to visit the missus.

"The missus", in this case is a girl whom I don't think I've seen before, but judging from the credits alone is Chante'. Now I do know of one Chante', who appeared in movies like "Taxi Girls 4" and Rodney Moore's decidely messy "Creme De La Face 2", but this girl doesn't bear much resembelance, aside from the fact that they're both reasonably pretty brunettes. Anyway, whoever she is, Tony decides to screw her on the couch in a fairly passionate scene. There's some oral work/asshole licking of the girl, courtesy of Tedeschi, before it moves on to him recieving a reasonable looking BJ. After the oral work it moves to the usual mish/doggie sex, with some fair heat being generated. I was taken aback however, when half way through the scene, he stops pumping away and decides to do a bit more anal rimming. I was even more taken aback when I realized that this was preparation work for a totally unexpected missionary anal, which although not in the slightest bit harsh is fairly well done. To end the scene, he lets off a presentable money shot on her box. A nice scene.

Now we move on to a bar, where Buck and Rebecca are spying on some bald dude who's putting the make on a sexy cowgirl-type chick in the bar. Baldy's having no luck and Buck suggests that Rebecca goes and offers him sex for money. Most naive young country girls would probably be shocked by this proposition, but Rebecca understands that Buck's a bit short of money and gladly agrees to go fuck the guy for him! (Come on, Mr Markman. I thought these scripts were supposed to be plausible!) She chats him up and takes him outside for some brief necking atop Buck's cadillac, but before you can say "How much do I owe you for a 'knee-trembler', baby?" Buck comes rushing out of the bar door, screaming at the guy and then knocking him to the floor. Rebecca cries out "NO! STOP! YOU'LL KILL HIM!" but Buck just carries on punching the guy over and over again in a badly faked and gratuitously violent fist fight, before leaving him bloodied and battered on the floor, pinching his wallet, grabbing Rebecca and driving off into the night in his caddy. Nice guy...

Anyhow, it's not too long 'fore Tony and the Feds are on the scene, asking questions to the barman. Tony comes up empty-handed and the Feds tease him about it. He challenges them with a "Can you do any better?!" sort of line and then walks out, leaving them to take up his challenge. It's around now that they notice the sexy cowgirl-type chick from earlier standing around looking at them. They decide to approach her and ask her if she's seen Buck. She demands a bribe and they flash her a hundred bucks or so, upon which she promptly delivers the information about what happened earlier. However, she's convinced that for a bribe of that caliber, our two FBI boys deserve a bit extra, so as a result she offers to fuck 'em both atop the pool table!

At first I thought that this girl was Jordan Lee as she bears a striking physical resembelance to her and also shares that nice southern accent of hers. When I saw that she was going to do two guys at once I thought "This MUST be DP queen, Jordan Lee" but I was shocked to read on the credits that it was in fact a post-plastic surgery Nikki Sinn! My God, she's changed! I have to say that, aside from the fairly nasty plastic tits, that the change is for the better. She's had her nose messed around with and now has (IMVHO) a prettier face than before. Still, despite Nikki's new look and the presence of my fave porno double act (Morgan & St Croix) this scene is L-A-M-E. It's a boring oral/vaginal DP with Nikki attempting to get some life out of the boys but Steve and Jon are seemingly on another planet! I think Jon starts off in her pussy, but we don't get any good views of his cock and we find out later that the reason is because he's absolutely fully limp! Steve manages to get it up and Nikki rewards him by giving some head. Before long they swap positions and Steve's in her pussy and Jon is still spanking the monkey like crazy trying to get it up! What was with him today? I thought he was supposed to be a pro! Anyway, the disappointment of the year comes around when it's time for the cum shots... Jon, still limp, jerks off over her face but only one tiny drop (MAXIMUM) manages to find it's way out, making Randy West look like Peter North! Steve, on the other hand, who usually delivers a good blast goes for the (AHEM) "Internal cumshot" approach by making some silly faces, groaning a bit and then just stopping. The odds of him cumming are slim. We see no visual evidence of it at all and I felt thoroughly ripped off at this scene...

Never mind. On to the next. Buck and Rebecca, in an effort to make some extra cash, have responded to a "Swinger's" ad in the personal column. They arrive at a very nice house, owned by Alexis DeVell (YES! Good to see her back! Looking mighty cute, as ever) and some jerk called Dan Steele, who looks like a woman (aside from the fact that he's fat and hairy). Rebecca, realizing that sex is on their minds, chickens out and heads back to the car, whilst Buck sticks around long enough to watch Steele and DeVell have a quick screw. Quick is the word indeed. He spends a fair amount of time giving cunnilingus, before she delivers a very nice but also very short BJ. After the oral antics are over, she rides cowgirl for nigh on 20 seconds before Buck thinks "Fuck this, I'm bored already" and shoots the pair of them dead on the spot!!!! Two scenes in a row without a cumshot! I definately get the feeling that Buck was aiming for the couples market here.

So, Buck steals Dan's wallet, returns to the car happy as Larry with a wad full o' cash and Rebecca is still none the wiser that he's a crazy escaped prisoner/serial killer! That night they have a romantic kind of "lying in bed underneath the rotating fan whilst kissing and talking with one another" session for the couples market (again) before Buck tells her that he's going out to meet some girls who put a personal ad in the paper. He assures her that all he's going to do is watch the girlies, take the money and then come straight back home... But would you believe a word this guy says?

Buck ends up at the house of Brittany O'Connell (pre boob job, still yummy) and Chase Manhattan (looking nicer than usual in good make-up for a change). They kiss each other and giggle a lot before begging for Buck to join in. Who could refuse?! Certainly not Buck as before long he's naked as a jaybird and getting some good head from both the girls, seperately, whilst the other sits on his face. There's loads of gorgeous full body shots in action during the oral part of the scene but Buck kind of wrecks it with his overacting and OTT groaning noises. Still, the scene progresses to Buck doing each girl seperately in a variety of positions (mish/doggie/cowgirl/Great RC on Brittany, during which she nicely displays the reasons why so many of her fans are pissed with her titjob) and all three partners are *REALLY* into it. Chase goes absolutely hog wild throughout this scene and Brittany gives the impression of being really excited (For a change). It ends with Brittany shouting "Cum all over my face!" (YEEEEEEESSSS!!!) (I wasn't expecting that line) and Buck happily obliging. He is aiming for her mouth and manages to fire directly on target. However (luckily for all us facial fans) one shot blasts it's way across her left cheek and a whole bunch of semen lands in her hair. A nice facial to end a steaming scene.

We're building up to the exciting climax of the movie now, as Buck runs out of the girls' house, unable to shoot them and babbling on about how he's going to die tonight or something. As he leaves the girls see his face on TV and have a silly "giggly schoolgirl" type conversation about how close they were to getting killed. Buck, meanwhile, returns to Rebecca and tells her that they're heading outside of town. He says he has a lawyer friend who owes him big time and that he can get a house from him. Rebecca, still unaware that Buck is five cans short of a six pack, agrees to go with him and they speed off to Steve Drake's expensive looking bungalow in the Hollywood Hills.

Inside, Steve and his wife Asia Carrera (looking darn cute indeedy) are having a playful couples-esque conversation (again Buck is going for the couples market...) before they decide to have a gentle, relaxing screw in the living room. Outside, Buck and Rebecca pull up and, to kill time whilst Steve and Asia are fucking inside, they have a (COUGH!) sensitive and soul baring conversation (COUGH!) about how Buck's parents never cared for him or some such shit (Definately heading down "Couples Lane" now). Asia and Steve wrap up their oral/oral/mish/doggie screw session with a pop shot on her belly and just then (perfect timing) Buck bursts through the door, pistols a blazin', and threatens to kill them both if Steve doesn't hand over the house. It turns out that Steve was the lawyer who landed Buck behind bars in the first place, so naturally Buck is not a happy bunny about this... However, after seeing how cute Asia is, he can't bring himself to kill them and just rushes out of the door crying and hops back in the cadillac with Rebecca, chattering some mumbo jumbo about how he's going to die tonight! He's right, as we soon see, because a police helicopter (HIGH BUDGET!!!) comes soaring through the skies. Buck starts driving off at top speed but he's pursued by a team of cop cars in an admittedly tense and very well shot (for a porn film) car chase sequence. Eventually they get him cornered and about a dozen cops jump out of cars brandishing rifles. The chopper lands and Tedeschi, Morgan and St Croix hop out and tell Buck to give himself up. No such luck! He tries to open fire on the cops but gets gunned down in an explicit fury of blood and bullets (Unexpected, considering the subdued nature of the violence up until now). After he's lying on the floor dead, Rebecca rushes over to him and tells us all in voice-over that two weeks after he got killed she found out that she was pregnant with his baby... Aahh. She still loves him even though he's psychotic being the moral of this twisted little tale, I guess.

"And so endeth the movie." And it's not a bad one either. The scenes with Buck in them were surprisingly very good indeed and some of the others weren't too bad, although the Nikki Sinn 3-way was pretty poor indeed. The story kept me interested enough, despite the sometimes implausible twists. The production values were extremly high so that alone ups the score a bit. Overall I'd give this one a highly presentable 3.15 on the Imperial Scale and recommend it to couples and big time cop-fans more than I would (say) raincoaters.

Happy viewing!
