Reviewed by Diesel Despite the gorgeous women and elegantly captured hardcore action, THE 5 KEYS OF PLEASURE is one of the most underwhelming Private films I've ever seen. Director Antonio Adamo employs a bevy of blondes - as well as a brunette in the form of Tina Lanos thrown in for good measure - in this vignette-oriented flick, which is told in flashbacks while Nicol and Sandra Iron play a game of poker with their beaus at home. (The male talent is not well-identified in the credits, but Micky Blue, Nick Lang, George, Bob Terminator and Steve Hooper get to do the honors of bedding down these babes.) The softly lit settings, and glamour videography make this film look and feel a lot more sensuous than it really is. The result is a beautifully designed movie with nothing of significant carnal substance. Audiences have often complained (and rightfully so) that Private's hardcore scenes, while technically excellent, can often feel cold and impersonal. Such is the case here, where all but one scene from 5 KEYS fails to truly thrill and excite. One of the problems is that with very few exceptions, there isn't that much kissing in the film. The girls and guys go at it as if on auto-pilot. There is very little passion among most of the performers, although they do the deed and do it professionally. The incomparably sexy Nicol is up first, having anal sex on a pool table in a serviceable, but chemistry-less one-on-one. One minute we are watching the two play a game of billiards, and the next minute, they are all over each other. Now I can certainly understand why any red blooded male would want to jump Nicol's bones, but the there is very little in the way of foreplay, and they hardly say more than two unintelligible words to each other. Tina Lanos is featured next in a somewhat incomprehensible set-up where she wakes up after an apparent accident (dressed up in fancy black lingerie) and lustfully attacks the two guys who are supposed to be watching over her. After the usual fuck and suck and double penetration action, Tina gets slimed in the mouth and on her ass, then the scene fades out without any further details on what the hell the "story" was all about. The same routine continues with Violet who has a butt-banging good time outdoors. Like Nicol, Violet is an undeniable looker with very long, blonde hair and sensational figure, but except for a little reverse-cowgirl style bumping and grinding, she is fairly inactive in this scene. Yet another fair-haired damsel, this time in the form of Sandra Russo, gets in between two cocks at one time in one of the better movie moments of lust. She is dressed in a white outfit which shows off her impossibly long legs and milky skin. Sandra also takes two cum facials with a smile, and it's too damn bad that we don't get to see more of her in this flick. Polina, an average looking (by Private standards) curly haired, dirty blonde, is also sandwiched between two guys in the following scene, which does not contain any DP action. It's as unremarkable as Violet's and Tina's segment. For the climax, we finally get to see covergirl Julia Taylor in action, and given how sexy she is, it's a crime that we don't get to see her at work until the last minute. She is matched with the two lead actors and they generate some true heat thanks to some explicit kissing and a generous amount of foreplay. Meanwhile, busty Sandra Iron and Nicol have sex across the room in a weak, though visually attractive, lesbian coupling. For some reason, director Adamo doesn't even encourage the girls to make out with each other, and the conduct feels as boringly contrived as the rest of the scenes. One of the guys joins the two other girls for a straightforward threeway, while Julia blows and gets anally fucked by the other. Along with Sandra Russo, Miss Taylor truly looks like she is enjoying herself in this movie, and I would much rather have watched her scene alone and without the frequent intercutting. Unfortunately, even her segment is somewhat diminished by the absence of a facial. Extras on this disc are limited to a trailer of the feature film, some information on the female cast, a photo gallery, a cursory written summary of the movie with credits, and previews of other Private titles. The video is excellent, but the audio is, predictably, dubbed in various languages. I must point out that the Menu is well-designed, using key and keyhole icons to advance from one section to another. It's about the best compliment I can muster for this very average DVD. THE 5 KEYS OF PLEASURE is a distinct disappointment from a studio which usually produces nothing but excellence. Unless it's pure eye-candy you're after, I would pass.
