Newsgroups: rec.arts.movies.erotica Starbangers 2 (SB2) is one of the weakest gangbang DVDs I've seen so far. Both "scenes" are with Domonique Simone, a black starlet who probably would have been very nice were it not for a pair of painfully plastic breasts. Worse, the action is quite tame--mostly slow to the point of being lethargic. There are only eight guys and there's no anal. Finally, the picture quality is very subpar. Fans of Domonique (there are still many of them out there, I know) might want to see this, but it leaves me cold. I got it as a large order freebee and paid too much. Part I: Up Against a Wall. The scene starts out with the eight guys (2 black, 6 white) lined up against a dimly lit brick wall...Domonique wanders over in in a slinky white formal gown, moving her way down the line, groping them and allowing herself to be groped. This takes some time. Not until seven minutes into the vid does the dress come off and the festivities commence. 20 minutes of fairly dull tag team sex follow. Domonique generally sticks to one or two guys at a time, and only very rarely entertains three or more. She does a good job of hitting most of the standard positions (except for mish), which is not easy to do when the only physical supports are a wall and the ground. At about minute 27, precisely _one_ guy doing her dog-style climaxes on her (admittedly gorgeous) rear, ending this segment. Lighting here is very dodgy, causing hues to veer into the red, greens, and oranges, depending. Where is lighting is simply insufficient, picture quality suffers massively, breaking down into digital snow. Part II: No, Not the Big TV Again...: The scene starts out with Domonique on a large bed, in a dark room, a _giant_ projection screen behind her. Of course, the screen is displaying a larger-than-life closeup of Domonique's self-pleasure techniques...Latex is the only video I've ever seen that made the whole self-referencial-background-video-screen device to work. In SB2 it's just pathetic. The need to keep the lights dim throws the hues off even worse than before and/or degrades the picture quality even further (pretty much no footage of the screen appears after the first five minutes, suggesting that they'd figured out this setup simply wasn't a good idea). After five minutes of being on her own, the guys start to come out... This time most of the action is mish, with Domonique on her back, generally servicing three guys at once. There are only about seven minutes of dog-style footage, and a little bit of side action--otherwise, all mish. Two of the skilled male technicians (either deliberately or no) climax a little before the big finale: one on her stomach, about ten minutes in, and the other at 49:00, just after they'd flipped her over for the dog segment. This second climax is noteworthy, being amply applied over her ripe, plump rear end...(They didn't do everything wrong, after all.) The action, though, is basically pretty monotonous unti the climax shots start at around 1:00:00. Here the guys do a very, very comprehensive job, almost completely coating all of Domonique's entire body and face. Were it not for the horror of having to look at the poor girl's mutilated chest, I might be able to say this segment was the DVD's saving grace. But no, I can't say that. Fans of Domonique would probably be thrilled, though. Runtime is 67 minutes. DVD picture quality is pretty grim. This title is ten years old, so you have to expect a certain amount of fuzz, but combined with the lighting problems, the video quality becomes a serious problem. On the other hand, Zane inflicted this DVD on the world, and they have never been known for quality control, so it's not like one can say that inferior work is any real surprise here. DVD extras are limited to one trailer tacked on at the end--Starbangers 1, featuring Savannah. SB1 looks to suffer from the same faults as SB 2, so I think I'll be skipping that one entirely. I never much cared for little lost Savannah anyway. I picked this DVD as free premium for placing a large order--and I really, really wish I'd picked something else. I'd always wanted to see the Starbangers series when I first saw the ads in AVN back in '93, but apparently I wasn't missing anything whatsoever. I'm not sure whether to be reassured or depressed. Fans of Domonique who _have_ to see this should try renting this one, unless they can find it very, very cheap. Everyone else should steer far, far away.
