From: [email protected] (Thom Burr) Perhaps a more apt title for this would be, "Attention Tera Patrick Fans! Tera Gets Analed!!" This is pretty much the only reason I got this disc, and I suspect many others out there are considering picking it up for the same reason. And yeah, Tera's two scenes are pretty good and can easily justify the purchase, for anyone who likes Tera, anyway. But first I'll cover what really annoyed me about this disc. I'm not going to review individual scenes because virtually all of them use the same anonymous Eurobabes in the same sex acts in the same places intercut with scenes of the other Eurobabes from the same bunch doing the same thing. The intercutting in particular kills scenes #2 and #4...Andrew Blake and Michael Ninn can do that sort of thing and (usually) get away with it, but this director definitely can't. Nearly all the scenes feature anal, a little odd for a couples vid like this, but it's shown as gently as they can manage. That, and the omnipresent condoms drain any of the potential heat. Mindless and wordless travelog segments pad out the length of the vid between sex scenes--I think I had to fast forward through forty minutes of that shit...The music, which is actually fairly well done, is nonetheless still too loud, and drowns out much of the sex--another art porno touch gone wrong. Finally, the plot is particularly bad (something about Y2K, nuclear weapons, computer chips, and spies), a couple prominent props were obtained from boxes of Cracker Jack, the dialog is laughable, the acting is horrendous, and the couple weak special effects thrown in just make the whole thing that much more chintzy. Hope I didn't miss anything to complain about... Was there anything I liked about the disc? A couple. Of the six scenes, four feature Eurobabes and two star Tera. Only one of the Euroscenes merits mention, scene #5, with a very attractive reddish-brunette in a nice poolside scene...no anal and a weak facial climax, however. Tera's two scenes are another matter. The first, scene #3, is quite well done: nicely-lit and filmed on a balcony overlooking the sea. Many of the shots are taken from some distance, making the condom much less obtrusive. Tera looks especially good during the lengthy foreplay session, receiving some of best filmed boy/girl cunnilingus I've seen. The climax is done across her chest, and very respectable... The second Tera Patrick appearance, scene #6, is her actual first anal to appear on tape (or here, disc). This is also a nicely done scene, especially her oral segment. The anal segment is as good as can be expected from an Adam & Eve, and even sort of includes the ana penetration shot. The climax, however, is on her rear, and unimpressive. Anyway, back to things that annoy me about this DVD. Since this is a dual layered DVD, you'd think it would be designed with all sorts of cool extras, but you'd be wrong. There's a manual slideshow with 30+ tiny still pictures, ten or so trailers from more Adam & Eve titles that I will take care to avoid, and an amazingly dull 90 minute Behind the Scenes feature that dumbcunt Steven St. Croix managed to fuck up royally. I have never seen such a boring look into the world of porn. Tera Patrick barely puts in an appearance, but during her short segment we do find out that she doesn't do girls (which is kind of a letdown for me..)...Even the 3 or so extra sex scenes added in the Behind the Scenes piece are dull. It's worth noting that Bobbl Bliss, who was only a production assistant on the set, makes a starring appearance in the third of these bonus scenes, but she's gotten a little too old to watch these days... Video quality is extremely good, but the audio quality is iffy because the music overpowers much of the sound during the sex scenes... In the final analysis, this a classic example of the kind of "porn with training wheels" (Torris's phrase, I think) that Adam & Eve is so typically guilty of releasing. Despite this, I still recommend the disc on the strength of Tera Patricks's two scenes. However, if you're not already a fan of Tera, you might want to avoid buying this one until you develop a infatuation with Tera intense enough to overlook this disc's many other faults... Review #V (my fifth)
