Charter: rec.arts.movies.erotica is a moderated USENET newsgroup dedicated to the intelligent and mature discussion of erotic films and videos -- hardcore, softcore or mainstream, gay or heterosexual. Discussion should be limited to reviews of current and not-so-current releases, gossip, behind the scenes stories, social, economic and legal issues surrounding erotic films, and discussion of actors and actresses (and directors and producers and...). Unacceptable submissions include spams, commercials and binaries.

The Role of the Moderators

The moderation team consists of a robot that kills any article that doesn't have [RAME] or (RAME) in the subject line.

Human moderators oversee the operation of the bot, and do little else to interfere with the operation of the group.

Human moderators may be removed from the team by a majority vote of all other moderators and advisors. Moderators and/or advisors may be added to the team by a majority vote of all moderators and advisors.

The robo-moderation software we're using is the widely used STUMP package:

   http://www.algebra.com/~ichudov/stump/

The bot will be autoaccepting everything that makes it past the [RAME]/(RAME) filters, good, bad or indifferent. If posts don't show up, it's most likely due to the fact that [RAME] wasn't present in the subject.

This charter may be amended to include different methods of moderation should the majority of moderators vote that such a change would be in the best interests of the group.

Posting Guidelines

I. Inappropriate Messages

Since the group is no longer human moderated, more or less anything goes, however, the following articles will be rejected out of hand:

  1. Binaries - The software will automatically reject any post that is a binary.
  2. Messages that are crossposted to more than two groups

We ask that the following be kept to a minimum to allow the smooth operation of the community.

  1. Trolling - posts that appear to be designed solely to disrupt the group. Don't feed the trolls and they will go away.
  2. Flames - vitriolic attacks on a personal level.
  3. Personals
  4. Munged Addresses: The choice of using a munged address is up to the poster. The moderators will not penalize posters for using munged addresses. If you want to get e-mail from newsgroup participants or moderators, use a real e-mail address.

Amending This Document

The charter can be amended at any time, by following the procedures then in effect for newsgroup creation.

This document may be amended or changed at any time, by consent of the moderators and discussion in the newsgroup.

Disclaimer

The moderators of rec.arts.movies.erotica do not hand-moderate every posting and have no way to cancel postings once they are propagated. While every effort is made to ensure that the robot software rejects postings which are contrary to the Charter, or refers them to the moderators for further consideration, some inappropriate postings may appear from time-to-time.

Approval of a posting by automation or by a human moderator is in no way an endorsement of its content. Posters assume full responsibility and legal liability for the content of their postings. Furthermore, the moderators are not responsible for the truthfulness, accuracy or legality of any postings to rec.arts.movies.erotica.
