According to the recently published book "Boys in the Sand - Casey Donovan, All American Sex Star" by Roger Edmonson, Alyson Books, 1998, Casey Donovan (born Calvin Culver) died on Sunday, August 10, 1987 at the Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida. Although clearly suffering from AIDS, the author suggests that Casey's death in the hospital was quickened with the aid of drugs. Casey was in a state of denial about his AIDS and being hospitalized with AIDS-related symptoms which he could no longer ignore was too much for him to bear.
